Can you believe that Twice Loved Boutique is nearly two years old? I know I’m still having a hard time believing that in just a few months, I’ll have been in business a full two years. When I was younger, I had the hardest time sticking to things, and I know a lot of people have hinted or even said right to my face in the past 2 years that they didn’t think I would stick with it. Feels good to prove them wrong, and prove to myself that I can do it!

So, I’m sure you’ve noticed that we’ve been closed, and if you haven’t noticed, well then why not? Kidding. Maybe.

Anyway, I mentioned in a previous post that we had been closed because we were having some issues with heating, we thought we had it fixed, but then as soon as I opened the store back up, it was a problem again. Gotta love these harsh Maine winters!

So we are working on a new plan for that (probably going to Propane next winter, but not sure yet). In the mean time we have been working on other plans. In probably a month or so we will be getting the materials to do yet ANOTHER renovation in the shop. I love improving the store every year, I really do! I love giving it a fresh look and feel and seeing everyone’s reactions when they come in and find a whole new store, completely different than the last time they visited.  Its fun, and helps to keep me motivated! Kinda like a treasure hunt every time you come in.

So my husband (aka super-hunky-handy-man), will most likely be replacing our current windows with some large store front picture windows. I’m SUPER excited about being able to set up window displays, and already have some great ideas.  We are also going to be adding some wall fixtures, so we can offer even more great items, and keep them better organized! A potentially ongoing process will be replacing the round fixtures we currently have with some custom built fixtures that will take up less space, but hold much more!  I don’t know if this will be done before we reopen or if it will be a progressive thing through the year, but it’s coming!

I’ve also got some great ideas in the works for customer appreciation, cause really, I’d be nowhere without you, and I’d be a fool to think otherwise! I’ve already started by giving away some gift certificates (a new service I’ve added!) on our Facebook Fan page… if you aren’t a fan yet, you should be, there is another gift certificate promotion in the works, exclusively for Facebook fans :)

I wish I could tell you all the great things I’ve got planned for the near future, but that would ruin the surprise, and well, if I give away all my secrets, that would be just no fun at all, would it? So stay tuned, and join us on Facebook and Twitter if you haven’t already, click here put your email address in there, hit Submit and you’ll join our Twice Loved Boutique Exclusives & Sneak Peaks newsletter if you aren’t already receiving our emails! And no worries, I hate spam as much as you do. Your privacy is guaranteed, I’ll never share or sell your information.

Now, I am off to go sort and tag more great items so we can continue to expand our offerings! Should be hearing soon from a few prospective new consignors about some great new and used items to add to the store this spring!

If you’re getting the bug to do any of that Post-Holiday, Pre-Spring Cleaning, let us help!

We are preparing some updates for our store for our upcoming re-opening in May, including the addition of MORE racks (increased selling space and more specific organization to make shopping even easier for our awesome customers!). We are looking for fresh items to add to our inventory, new consignment accounts to be a bit more specific. Now typically our consignment accounts run for about 90 days (3 months from the date you bring your items in) but because we are closed for the time being, new accounts (and any items that have been brought in since November) will be extended, to begin on May 1st when we re-open, and will end August 1st, just in time to refresh for back to school and cooler weather sales!

Items we are looking for on Consignment for the summer:

  • Girls and Boys school clothes
  • Mens clothing of all sizes
  • Maternity clothing
  • Shoes
  • Vintage and unique pieces

We may be looking for more as the time to re-open approaches, and we will know more once we have finished taking inventory and all of that business, so stay tuned :)

We also receive questions from people occasionally about whether or not we take donations. The answer is YES, of course we do! We will take nearly anything, but hope that our wonderful suppliers will take into consideration current fashions and things people most likely just will not want. Keep it clean and neat and no bags please!

So it appears that our heating issues are back, and are not going to be fixed any time soon. Of course, this comes after a whole month of preparing to open back up, just to have another week of delays due to illness.

After a lot of thinking and debating and weighing options, we have decided that the best option for Twice Loved Boutique is to remain closed until warmer weather arrives, with a tentative date of May 1st. We were closed all of last winter for other reasons (one of those will be turning a year old in a few months!) and opening back in May and celebrating with an anniversary event worked out really well for us!

Our loyal customers understood the break, as I am sure you all will continue to understand, and you were right there celebrating with us for our 1st Anniversary/ReOpening celebration! Over our second year, even with the current economical state, our sales were up about 25% from our first year! I am confident that this business will continue to grow and gain even more amazing customers, even when we have to close for the winter.

I will continue to be available by request if you are in need of something you can call ahead and set up a time and I’ll make sure I am available to help you out, some customers have already taken advantage of this and I hope more of you do. The number to call is 207-722-3519, if there’s no answer, just leave a message and I’ll get back to you!

Thank you all for understanding the difficulties we are having, and for remaining loyal through these tough times. We will see you again in the spring (or sooner if you come visit us this weekend at the Mount View Elementary PTC Baby Fair!

We recently had a fairly large consignment account come to an end and after taking all of the leftover items off the sales floor we discovered we were a bit low on Girls clothes!

We have a bit in a range of sizes from 4 to 14 but nothing larger and not very many in the sizes we DO have!

We are looking for donations or consignment of any of these sizes (we have PLENTY of infant and toddler girls clothes on the racks and in storage, so we are not looking for the little sizes at this time).

If you are interested in donating or consigning clothing with us, please review our Consignment Guidelines (By Clicking Here or at the top of this page where it says Consignment), to be sure that you have what we are looking for.

If you are donating (instead of receiving compensation) please call ahead to let us know when you will be in so that we can make sure someone is available to take care of the donation. If you are wanting to open a Consignment Account you will need to print off the Consignment Contract and Intake Form (both can be found on our Consignment page above) complete both and then call to make an appointment to get your account set up!
