Here Are Some Basic Tips on Dressing for YOUR Body And No One Else But!
(Except your butt;-)
by wardrobe stylist Laura Michaud
It is so easy to get caught up in today’s world of fashion. With all the fashion magazines, ‘reality’ TV shows, and celebrity sightings we come across, how do we not get caught up?! Society doesn’t allow us not to! That is why we must be stronger than ever ladies. And I believe we can do this! How, you ask? By being true to yourself and letting that shine through with everything you do including getting dressed. This may come easily to some, but when you see all the hype about the top trends each season, how do you figure out which ones are for you?? Keep reading and hopefully you will soon be able to determine this for yourself.
I am a stylist. I have been in the retail and fashion world for 18 years and I am here to tell you that just because something is a trend and you happen to love it, it’s not necessarily meant for you. Take for example, the skinny jean. The skinny jean has been such a popular trend in the fashion world since the beginning of last fall. They are here to stay for 2010, but not everyone is going to be able to wear this trend well. Some of you will make the skinny jean work for you. They key is all in the STYLING. You don’t have to be a little skinny girl to wear them. You just have to know that you might need to wear a heel with the skinny jean to make them work for your body. Or you may need to wear a tunic style top with or without a belt to get your most flattering look. Some of you know right of the bat that the skinny jean is not for you. I hope you at least try them and experiment. Fashion is fun and it’s all about being YOU. Don’t try to copy anyone. Buy fashion magazines strictly for inspiration. Don’t feel like you have to own everything you see. Be picky, very picky, no matter what the item costs. Make sure it’s YOU, and make sure you keep in mind what is already hanging in your closet. Shopping my closet is one of my favorite t
hings to do! I find many treasures in there. And they all look like new clothes because of the way I STYLE them. This is one of the reasons why I adore shopping at resale boutiques. They are closets full of treasures! You never know what you are going to find.
You know what they say, one WOmans trash is another WOmans treasure! I truly believe in that!

Yep, that’s true… On Black Friday (This Friday, the day after Thanksgiving), EVERYTHING in the store that is marked for sale will be just ONE DOLLAR EACH!
Can’t get much better than that! And if you’re lucky I might even bring out some items from Storage that haven’t been tagged yet for you to go through as an extra!
Most of our items are brand new or LOOK brand new, and we do have a small selection of Non-Clothing items as well! I know most parents out there tend to get a few gifts off the “Want” list as well as the “Need” list for the holidays… and what better way to save on the things on the “Need” list than to get them for $1 each?!?!
We will be opening at 9am on Friday Morning and will be open until 5pm – That’s 2 extra shopping hours for you!
If you’re heading out to hit some of the bigger stores in the morning, stop in here on your way home and tell us all about what you picked up! I love a good story, and Black Friday is FULL Of good stories!
In celebration of Columbus Day, and not letting jealousy get in the way of life, I am having a buy one, get one free sale on men and womens clothes today only!
Details: For example – Buy a shirt, get one free! Buy a pair of pants, get another free! Free item must be of equal or lesser value, store will determine what qualifies at time of sale. Formal gowns and shoes not included.
We recently had a fairly large consignment account come to an end and after taking all of the leftover items off the sales floor we discovered we were a bit low on Girls clothes!
We have a bit in a range of sizes from 4 to 14 but nothing larger and not very many in the sizes we DO have!
We are looking for donations or consignment of any of these sizes (we have PLENTY of infant and toddler girls clothes on the racks and in storage, so we are not looking for the little sizes at this time).
If you are interested in donating or consigning clothing with us, please review our Consignment Guidelines (By Clicking Here or at the top of this page where it says Consignment), to be sure that you have what we are looking for.
If you are donating (instead of receiving compensation) please call ahead to let us know when you will be in so that we can make sure someone is available to take care of the donation. If you are wanting to open a Consignment Account you will need to print off the Consignment Contract and Intake Form (both can be found on our Consignment page above) complete both and then call to make an appointment to get your account set up!
